Tlemcen: the first prize for Arabic calligraphy awarded to an Iranian.
Jurors made at the International Cultural Festival of Arabic calligraphy that was held from 16 to 21 April last at the palace of culture Imama, dairi Mansoura, were awarded the first prize of the modern Arabic calligraphy Alireza Mohebbi Sheikhari Iran, the second prize to Ibrahim Khalil Ibrahim Abu Touq of Jordan and the third prize to Abdelkader Daoudi and the price incentive Kadri Abdelhafid of Algeria.
As for the price of classical Arabic calligraphy, it was given to Muhammad Sagharbati of Algeria, the second prize to Ms. Elhah Khatami of Iran and the third prize to Mohammed Lamine Bentorquia Algiers.
Moreover, the price incentive is income Othmanine Mohammed of Algeria said on the festival with the Commissioner Belkahla Mustapha at the close of this edition that took place under good conditions, thanks to resources made activities for this international cultural festival that is part of the manifestation of Tlemcen, the capital of Islamic culture 2011.
During this festival, 112 works of Arabic calligraphy were competing in this contest, holding an exhibition at the art gallery, workshops, lectures by experts and specialists on this topic.
