But this requires the integration of three pillars of sustainable development, which are the environmental dimension, the economic and the cultural and social dimension. its three pillars based on the development of education and science that can only deepen and humanize our knowledge of the world.
He stressed that the world today is undergoing profound changes at all levels, since we are witnessing the globalization of science and technology as with the new technologies of information and communication, which the need not ignore the reality of interdependence between globalization of trade, widespread poverty and environmental problems.
Also, in this perspective, the question is whether universities can contribute to sustainable development to achieve the Millennium Development Goals (poverty, health, water, education ...).
The complexity of the world refers to the multi dimensionality of approaches to his apprehension, hence the need for harmonizing the perception of the world, to decentralize power and strengthen networks in the service of economic and socio cultural obsolescence Quick knowledge (doubling every 05 years the amount of knowledge) joined the narrowing of the lifetime of products and services.
The complexity of the world and the socialization of exchanges globally, including through the development of ICT reported at'il, created new dilemmas, sources of confusion and tension in the exchanges between peoples and threats to the environment, which requires a new understanding of human relations and tolerance should prevail, the values of reconciliation, acceptance of cultural diversity, a set of values that can flourish only in the choice of a democratic system.
Ultimately, education and shared knowledge are the guarantee of durable peace and sustainable development, he said.
The discussion focused on training for a chance at all, to move towards the future with optimism, to promote an intellectual basis for any society, we must continue to learn with the experience of others and academies and universities have helped to enrich the dialogue in the world, investment in human capacity, maintaining cultural diversity, reducing the gap between rich and poor etc..
In addition, the President of CNES Babes Mohammed pointed out that it is planned an Institute of Sustainable Human Development in Africa with its headquarters in Algiers.
